Kennedy
Kennedy's first year of college was quick, but she loved every second of it. Most of all, her classes. Finally being in her dream major changed everything.
"I'd wake up every morning, like, oh yeah, I get to go to class today."
She always knew she wanted to go to law school, but this erased any apprehension. Being in the major she's dreamed about since childhood has given her clarity on what she wants her career to be: a sports agent and attorney, and later in life, a politician. She wants a field she's genuinely interested in, one where she can make a difference. The changes in NIL bills at her own school only fueled that fire. Just like she loves her classes now, "I want to wake up every day and love going to work."
She started her freshman year a little shy, but eventually opened up and blossomed. Some of the biggest things she learned this year: the importance of guidance from professors, going out of your comfort zone, and staying open-minded. She went to events she didn't think she'd be interested in, met new people, and changed up her usual routines. As a result, she learned more about herself and the world. And her least favorite part of the year? "To memory? Nothing."
As always, Kennedy has kept herself busy. She's in the Good Samaritan Bible Club and the Black Student Alliance, and she's already the secretary of the Pre-Law Association. Next year, she plans on being a student peer mentor for incoming freshmen. This summer, she's taking the LSAT. Next spring, she'll graduate with her bachelor's degree. And by next fall, she'll be in law school.
One year down, a dream career ahead, and Kennedy’s ready for it.
