Taylor has a charisma that's impossible to miss. She's a people person; she loves being around people she loves, and getting to know people she doesn’t. Being with people is part of what makes life special for her. That connection is something she's already carrying into her future: one of the biggest things she wants out of her career is to build strong relationships with her patients.

She's headed to Hampton University for Pharmacy, and graduated from Highland Springs High School. While at Highland Springs, she was involved in Active Mind, Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, DECA, National Honor Society, Communities in Schools, and the National Science Honor Society. She was voted Female Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row, and ranked 14th out of 430 students in her class. She was motivated by her future plans, and by the hope of someday pouring into her community.

Community has always been important to Taylor. Growing up constantly surrounded by people helped instill that value in her. Her family inspires her to keep going. They passed down their ambitious traits, with her grandparents being business owners, but they also passed down the importance of community, maintaining bonds with their customers over the years.

Winning The Pedestal Fund Scholarship was her first time winning any scholarship, and she and her parents celebrated it together. Her friends had started having doubts about whether winning scholarships was possible, but seeing Taylor win one brought them hope.

Ambitious from a young age, if Taylor could give her childhood self any advice, it would be to stop worrying so much about the future. But even now, she's focused on what's ahead, wondering which parts of her journey will be the most important in shaping who she's becoming.

Things don't always come as easily as they seem to Taylor. There were nights she got home late from her clubs and didn't have time for homework or studying, let alone free time. But she never let herself give up. "It made me realize that I have to keep going, I have to keep pushing, so that things will come easier in the future"

What she wants out of life is what anyone would want: happiness, success, and ease. And one of the greatest things that brings her happiness is seeing others happy. Alongside that, she hopes to be free from financial and social pressure, free to live her life as she chooses.

The Pedestal Fund is honored to help Taylor take the next step toward a life of purpose, connection, and the kind of success that lifts up everyone around her.
